Its very important for kids to go out and enjoy birthday parties of their friends and have an equally amazing time at their own party.

Gifts are a very integral part of birthday parties. Kids look forward to the carry away gifts they get at the end of any party. The regular gifts no more hold the interest of kids these days. The search for novel and new ideas as to what can be given as gifts is a cumbersome task.

Gifts are a way of expressing that we are grateful to our guests for taking out the time and being a part of our celebrations. Just giving something random does not give that extra touch of love and warmth. In todays world the options are endless. Children are like sponges and its very easy to make them understand about the increasing problems we are facing in today’s age, Global Warming being on top of the list. Every little step, every effort taken to turn the wheel back leading to even minute changes will help.

Description : Get those little hands at work. Get them off those smart phones, iPads and give them toys that help put their hands to constructive use. The eco kids dough is made from all natural plant and vegetable extracts with close to no harm to the environment.

Description : Toys are what kids love. So don’t deny them those. Choose the wooden ones, the ones that cause no harm and can be passed on to many others once the age limit is crossed. They last longer and are non toxic. From wooden telephones to rural kitchen toy set, from toy sailing boats to wooden jigsaw number/alphabet puzzles, from a pull along puppy to a wooden walker, for friends or for your own kids make a choice to buy or gift them sustainable stuff. The list is really endless.

Pots and saplings
Description : Save trees. Am sure most kids even in grade 1 know about it. Its been taught really early. Plant a tree activities happen everywhere. Why not as return gifts. 20 little guests at a party, each small plant start to grow at home. Make the game fun by having kids paint their pots and plant the seeds /saplings as a game and they get to take them home. Not rare these days. Do your bit though it may increase your budget a wee bit.

Small fish pots
Description : Give them their own fish pot. Nothing too big. A small one, a single low maintenance fish, an instruction manual and some fish food to get them started. Speaking from experience on this one I had an over enthusiastic bunch of kids who called me up once their fish food got over. I did indulge a few of my daughter’s friends to motivate them.

Drawstring bags
Description : We all need bags to carry stuff. Kids love to carry their toys around. Getting some drawstring bags made from fabric at home or bought from stores in bright and attractive colours is a great idea to a greener environment. If the kids are older ones maybe you can have them play a game to decorate or colour the bags and can be taken back home as gifts.

Cutlery and crockery
Description : Eating off a good plate or cup or sipper is very exciting for kids. Ditch the plastic and choose from a wide range of bamboo fibre dinnerware. They look good and are great as gifts too. The same goes for stainless steel cutlery which are safe and nontoxic and last long as well.
